Each of these ornaments is handmade by Eswatini artisans and 100% of the profits from each sale are donated to support orphans living on Project Canaan in Eswatini. Proudly display this unique ornament on your holiday tree this year or from your rearview mirror all year long and be reminded of this amazing cause that you helped to support.

What is Sisal?

Sisal is a species of Agave that is grown in Africa and throughout other areas of the world. It is commonly used to make ropes and other durable material. Khutsala™ Artisans cut the sisal, remove the green part of it, and dry it in the sun in order to use it as the top part of these ornaments. See the complete process here.

What Are Lucky Seeds?

Lucky seeds, more commonly known as “Swazi baby teething beads” or River beads, are found in Eswatini. This tropical wild grass seed has been gathered and used for generations by local Swazi women for their babies to chew on as a natural teething remedy. They are referred to as Job’s tears in other parts of the world.

What is Project Canaan?

Over 50% of the population living in Eswatini, Africa is living below the poverty line. Project Canaan is a 2,500-acre farm located in Eswatini that employes over 100 artisans and provides a fair wage to them to help support their livelihood and their family's.

100% of the sales online from Khutsala Artisans goes to support the children currently living at the Project Canaan farm. Proudly display this unique ornament knowing that you're supporting the Khutsala™ Artisans, their families, and the children living at Project Canaan.
