The creation of each crocodile involves a team of three Khutsala Artisans. The process is started by framing the main wire into the shape of the crocodile. This takes about 3 hours to complete. Once this is finished, another artisan will string the beads on to a wire which is then wrapped about the frame. The entire process and wrapping takes over 10 hours to complete.
Each of our beaded animals are handcrafted in Eswatini, Africa. Eswatini has over a 70% unemployment rate. We currently employ over 100 people at Khutsala Artisans. Our mission is to provide each of our artisans with work they can be proud of and help them provide for their families.
All profits generated through sales of Khutsala Artisans merchandise go directly back to support the 250+ orphans living at Heart for Africa’s 2,500-acre farm called Project Canaan.
