SwaziMUD™ Beads

Our SwaziMUD™ beads are handmade at Project Canaan in Eswatini, Africa by the Khutsala™ Artisans. These beads are made from African mud that is hand-rolled and then baked in a kiln for 8 hours. After the beads are hardened, they are hand glazed and then baked again for another 8 hours turning them into uniquely colored ceramic beads.

Completely Handcrafted in Africa

Each of these unique beaded bracelets is made with SwaziMUD™ beads. These color ceramic beads are hand-crafted by artisans in Africa. The production of these SwaziMUD™ beads provides work for men and women in a country with unemployment estimates up to 70%.

Because these beads and the metal heart on these bracelets are handmade, no two bracelets are alike. Each purchase is truly one-of-a-kind.

Fight Unemployment and Poverty with Each Purchase

Over 50% of the population in Eswatini, Africa is living below the poverty line and make less than $2 per day. Khutsala meanings "hard-working" in the siSwati language.

Over 100 people are currently employed at Khutsala™ Artisans and since each Swazi provides for 13 other family members on average, nearly 1,300 people are impacted in surrounding communities.  Work gives us all purpose.  It nurtures dignity and self-worth. Each artisan is proud of their high-quality work, knowing that they are providing for their families as well as funds that help care for orphans and vulnerable children.
