Our SwaziMUD beads are handmade at Project Canaan in Eswatini, Africa by Khutsala artisans. These beads are made from African mud that is hand-rolled and then baked in a kiln for 8 hours. After the beads are hardened, they are hand glazed and then baked again for another 8 hours turning them into uniquely colored glass beads.
Over 50% of the population living in Eswatini, Africa is living below the poverty line. Project Canaan is a 2,500-acre farm located in Eswatini that employes over 100 artisans and provides a fair wage to them to help support their livelihood and their family's.
