This adorable gingerbread ornament is handmade at Project Canaan, giving employment to a country with unemployment estimates as high as 70%. Decorate your tree this year with a purpose. Each of our gingerbread man ornaments are handcrafted by African artisans and 100% of the profit from each sale is donated to support the children living at Project Canaan in Eswatini, Africa.
To begin, each ornament is started by sculpting a wire into the appropriate shape. Then, the beads are strung on to a long wire. Finally, a third artisan will wrap the sculpted ornament with the beaded string.
100% of the profits from each sale go directly to support our children on Project Canaan, a place of hope for orphans and vulnerable children in Eswatini, Africa.
Over 50% of the population in Eswatini, Africa is living below the poverty line and make less than $2 per day. Over 100 people are currently employed at Khutsala™ Artisans and since each Swazi provides for 13 other family members on average, nearly 1,300 people are impacted in surrounding communities. Work gives us all a purpose. It nurtures dignity and self-worth.
