Our SwaziMUD™ beads are handmade at Project Canaan in Eswatini, Africa by the Khutsala™ Artisans. These beads are made from African mud that is hand-rolled by our artisans and then baked in a kiln at 1060°C for 8 hours. After the beads are hardened, they are hand glazed. All of our glazes are also mixed on-site. The beads are then baked for another 8 hours turning them into uniquely colored ceramic beads.
Over 50% of the population in Eswatini is living below the poverty line. Our mission is to decrease this percentage and provide employment for those in Eswatini. Over 100 people are currently employed at Khutsala™ Artisans and since each Swazi provides for 13 other family members on average, nearly 1,300 people are impacted in surrounding communities.
100% of the profit from each sale goes to support the children living on Project Canaan, a place of HOPE for orphans and vulnerable children in Eswatini. Spread hope to the beautiful children in Eswatini when you purchase.
